1. Firstly, you need to use a correct trap cage, you should also put the trap cage in a proper location. 

2. Know your animal's habits: what food it eats and the path it uses to locate food. 

3. Unwanted smell may drive animal pests from trap cage. When you bait, set up or carry traps, you need to wear gloves to hide the smell and protect youself from the animals.

4. During the transportation of an animal in trap, you need to use a blanket and some similar item to cover the trap cage. They can help the animal to settle down. 

5. Put some waterproof thing under the trap cage.
