Hexagonal wire mesh a common type wire mesh for livestock enclosure

Hexagonal wire mesh, a common type wire mesh for livestock enclosure, is named from the shape of its special hole. 

Different from another similar  hexagon hole steel wire mesh - gabion, we use lighter gauge to produce this kind of wire netting. 

The light gauge are BWG 25 to 22, or a heavier gauge to make fishing or lobster trap, say 18 gauge or thicker.

Hexagonal wire mesh/netting has another popular name, that is chicken wire or chicken mesh. 

Because of its more ordinary use - protection of chickens, rabbits, birds, etc..

We recommend hole size 1/2", 3/4" and 1" when the hexagonal wire mesh used for livestock fences. 

Is there any differences on the surface coating to keep the inner steel wire get rid of being rusty? 

Actually no. Just like other sorts of wire mesh, there is zinc coating or plastic coating outside for corrosion resistance .
